It is one of the few remaining historic downtown churches, and is currently listed in the Historic Resources Inventory.

The church is known for its extensive work with the homeless. The homeless shelter program will be put out if the church is demolished.

The 100-Year Old Pipe Organ has been painstakingly restored over many years. It would be very expensive to safely remove the organ from its present facilities.

Demolishing the church will damage the environment. Even more damage will be done in constructing a new building. New structures can be built around the church without destroying it. It would be wasteful to demolish this structurally sound building.

The church is a place of worship for many, who consider it holy. Once it is torn down, it can never be undone.
